Description
Custom Playmat – Standard or Black Stitched Edge, Or New – Printed Stitching Options
Our Custom Playmats are praised highly by many gamers. They make the perfect choice for a custom Playmat for games such as: Magic the Gathering (mtg), Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, One Piece, and many more. Printed on a neoprene and polyester finished mat with a smooth and comfy surface, making your games personalised, thematic and nice to use. Card pickup is much easier due to the neoprene rubber backing, and the smooth surface allows for easy tapping and moving of cards.
Playmat Size: Standard Mat
The Playmats are standard size 23 x 13.5 inches and 1.5mm thick. The mats roll up easily and unroll nice and flat. We have found that 1.5mm seems to be the best thickness for rolling out flat (when not rolled over tight). Our standard mats are a great choice and are a much more eco friendly option.
Playmat Size: Stitched edge (black and printed stitching versions)
The Stitched Edge Playmats are size 23.5 x 14 inches and 3mm thick. Although we think our standard mats are great, we have made our stitched edge mats double the thickness and with 0.25 inch black stitching around the edges or the new printable stitching, for those who are seeking a more luxury and cushioned feel. The printable area is the same size as our standard playmat to keep things practical. So your artworks will be the same for either playmat choice.
Playmat storage
We do recommend that you roll Playmats print-side out for best lay flat results. When not in use, you can store the Playmats in the card tube they are shipped in. This doubles up nicely as a storage tube with end caps.
Card Zones currently available
We currently have compatible card zones for the the following games:
- Magic the Gathering: Standard and Commander styles
- Yu Gi Oh – MD5
- One Piece
- Card Fight Vanguard
- Flesh & Blood
- Age of Sigmar

Artwork Guide
We can help support you with setting up an artwork for printing if you are unsure. You can simply send us an image and we will crop and fit it for you and send you a mock-up proof for approval.
For those of you who can setup artwork, the following spec is used:
- Finished Print size: 23 x 13.5 inches
- File size including bleed 23.5 x 14 inches (your design should be this size and the background should fill it 100% don’t add borders to fill the bleed area, it must be artwork).
- 0.25 inch bleed
- keep text and important parts 0.5 inches from the edges (safe zone)
- 300 PPI resolution.
- PDF, High res JPEG, AI, PSD, EPS files.
Printed Stitching Artwork
For printed stiting on your playmat, the artwork needs to be a little bigger (as we are printing the stitching too). Make your artwork 24×14.5 inches. and make sure any text, zones and important elements are at least 0.75 inches from the edge. This ensure your zones and text etc will not be printed on the stitched area or be croppped off, unless you intend them to be.
Bleed Meaning: bleed is printing that goes beyond the edge of where the sheet will be trimmed.
Please note: the uploader on the checkout will only accept JPEG, JPG and PNG. please email other file types and quote your order number.
Please leave any important imagery or text 0.5 inches from the edge of the file for cutting clearance.

I have purchased a selection of the playmats and they are excellent quality.
I usually use ultra pro mats and these have comparable quality. Likewise the printing is extremely high quality and the colour is vivid.
I highly recommend these.
Kyle –
Great service provider, patient and communicative. My playmat turned out fantastic! Their creative input on the design of the mat was spot on and I’d recommend to anyone looking for a good quality custom playmat.

I’ve never had a playmat for my dice games before and always used the bare table like the scrub I once was… until now. I had a custom Playmat made up for my games of Star Wars Destiny and the image I sent over was printed perfectly on a high quality mat and delivered in no time at all. Will definitely be placing more orders again in the future. Thanks Venom Battle Gear!

I’d never ordered a playmat before and was somewhat hesitant after seeing mixed results from other providers. After receiving mine in the post from Venom Battle Gear, I could not be happier. The image is sharp and crisp, no colour wash out or fading, no loss of resolution in the image I provided – it’s genuinely flawless. Can not recommend enough!!

I have now ordered over 100 playmats from here and this is my second review.
I can honestly say they are beautifully printed and I have absolutely no reason to go anywhere else.
It’s a complete pleasure buying from someone that you know always delivers quality. Cheers! :)

I was thoroughly impressed with the mat I received, and so was my friend who got it for their birthday.
In addition, Simon was very helpful whenever there were any problems that came up (mainly when the image I first produced was too small and deciding when it was most convenient to post the mat).
Very satisfied all around and would highly recommend these mat’s to anyone who wishes to have one custom made.

Ordered two playmats for my card game and was not only impressed with the quality and feel of the product itself, but with the exceptional customer service! Simon called to let me know that my designs bleed lines needed editing as id measured them incorrectly. Once resolved, the mats turned up on three days and they are phenomenal! If there is ever a demand for playmats from my game I will be coming here to make them! :)

Recently ordered a playmat from VBG. Simon was very helpful with getting the proof back promptly and helping with sizing. The mat was delivered and it was fantastic. Great quality, brilliant colours and most importantly lies perfectly flat! The mat gets delivered in a tube perfect for storage. Once you get a playmat you will never play without one. Can’t recommend them enough, so much so I’ve ordered another one! Thanks VBG!

After looking around for a bit I eventually settled on this website for my custom playmat. Its a gift for a friend who is unable to get an official Fire Emblem Cipher themed mat. The quality of the print is stunning. Its as good, maybe even better, than official mats I own. I’m very impressed. Now I know how easy custom mats are I’m sure I’ll be back for more soon :)

Fantastic customer service! I’m impressed by the excellent quality of the mat. It has vivid colors, looks elegant, and lies perfectly flat, which is amazing. Also, Simon was understanding and answered quickly to all my emails. I’m grateful he noticed the card rectangles were a bit smaller than the actual cards and called me to confirm if that’s what I wanted. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a custom mat. Thanks again :)

Decided to buy one of these after a friend at the LGS got two, so I already knew it’d be a quality playmat, that said I’m still blown away by just how good it is, the printing, the materials, and the speed it was made and delivered, couldn’t ask for any better.

Heard only good things about this site and decided I’d get some custom matts printed to upgrade on of my campaign board games that will get a lot table time coming up. Quality is amazing and was delivered very quickly. Communication was great as many others testify to as well. I didn’t receive any shipping tubing with my custom neoprene mats with the end caps for storage but it could be because I ordered 4 in one go. The shipping they did come will be enough for storage though so not going to lose sleep over it. Would definitely order from here again!

The print came out perfect, colours are really nice and this finish is super clean. I even got a call just to let me the printer went down and it’d be a couple more days which was really appreciated.

I am extremely pleased with my playmat! It was my first time ever ordering one and Simon was very quick to help when I had issues with my design, which made me feel assured that I was in good hands. The quality of the image and the mat itself is fantastic too (I opted for the one with the stitched edges) and having read another review I also brightened my image slightly so I second doing that if you feel it might be needed! I will definitely order from VBG again when I want another playmat and I will recommend here to others too ^_^ Thank you Simon!
